Exports of hides and skins as tanned, crust and finished leather have been presented by SECEX (The Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat) for the month of August 2014, registered a monthly record of US$266.6 million.
The figures showed an increase of 28.3% over the same month last year, when wet-blue, crust and finished leather worth US$207.9 million wa exported. Compared with July 2014 exports increased by 7.1%, when the total exported reached US$ 249.0 million.
The CICB figures relating to the quantity of hides exported, considering only cattle hides, in August shipped 2.92 million pieces, an increase of 2.3% compared with July, when the total was 2.85 million pieces.
